Mr. Kern started his career in Ohio. After completing a degree in Social Work, and then law school, he spent nine years working in public-interest agencies where he represented persons who couldn’t obtain an attorney on their own. In 1992 Ted moved to Knoxville, and spent the next seven years as litigation director for what was then known as Knoxville Legal Aid Society. In 1999 he left public service work to start his own practice. Mr. Kern has 21 years of experience in private practice, focusing on representing individuals with a variety of legal issues.
With more than 35 total years of experience, Mr. Kern is well-prepared to represent you as an attorney or mediator for even the most difficult situations. In fact, he has taught others these skills by teaching at the University of Tennessee College of Law and through state-wide training programs in Ohio and Tennessee.
Mr. Kern is a Fellow in the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, a nationwide organization that recognizes experience and expertise in this area of law.
